An Underrated Historian

Chase is underrated. His work truly cuts into and analyses the "scientific racism" and eugenics movement like no other. These movements are poorly understood, and you can read dozens of books without getting the amount of information and clarity that you get from this one book. Many other historians of the eugenics movement engage in platitudes and generalities about the individuals behind the movement, often relegating them to "right wing" political affiliations without thinking through the obvious connections to American Progressivism and British Fabian Socialism.
I find that the research that went into my first book ( From a "Race of Masters" to a "Master Race": 1948 to 1848 ) was simply incomplete until I finished reading Chase. Chase never asks you to go on his opinion. His book is lengthy precisely because he provides ample facts to back up his observations. This is no quick and easy read; but then again, if you are even contemplating reading a book on such a focused subject, then you should be immersing yourself in works such as this one.

A very well researched book on the history of the Eugenics movement from Britain to the U.S., to Nazi Germany. Chase proves that Eugenics is still alive under another name. Well-documented.
