About the Author
After raising two sons and retiring from the business world, the author of, �Wings on her Heels, can be found traveling, with her husband, around the European continent in their caravan. Known as the 'story telling lady', many a story was born and typed on her trusty laptop while on the road. After writing and directing several plays and comedy skits, Angelika Schwarz is now focusing on writing novels and short stories.

Wonderful and Uplifting...I'm hoping There is Plenty More to Come from This Author!

"Brighten a Senior's Day" is Angelika Schwarz's second book. Her first book, "Wings on Her Heels" was one of the best-written books that I have read in a long time. I'm hoping there is plenty more to come from this wonderful story-teller. Senior's Day is a lovely, uplifting collection of poems and short stories. Some are fun and had me laughing out loud, others are poignant and thought-provoking. I enjoyed the eclectic mix and pace of the book. "Brighten a Senior's Day" is short, easy to read, and a book that would be fun to read together with a loved one. The author even includes some ideas for discussion and questions to help readers remember and tell their own stories. I'm glad to have read this book, and will probably read it a few more times while eagerly waiting for her next book. It's easy to see why Angelika's grandchildren constantly beg for more stories from their Oma's rich imagination....by the end of this book, I wanted more stories too!
Addendum: I just finished reading Brighten a Senior's Day II and it's a wonderful sequel! More delightful poems and stories, some had me close to tears, others had me guffawing out loud. It was well worth adding to my collection by this wonderful author. Dare I say it? I want more!! I'm already forward to the next one.

I really enjoyed this collection of short stories and poems by author Angelika Schwarz. The author has the ability to make me laugh and even shed a few tears at times. For the most part, the book was uplifting and light and a quick read. It was a great idea to add points of discussion after each chapter too. I'll definitely be reading the second volume.

It contains poems and stories and photos that make you laugh, cry and remember. I have it near by, in my Kindle, on my home page. I am a senior ... help! .... And this book does just that. It helps me to smile and.to feel happy. So, give yourself a treat and read this. Or hold it close and reach for it when you need a bit of sunshine.
