Learning from a master

I'm only half way through the kindle version and loving it. The author has an amazing depth of knowledge about the "philosophies and models" behind the design of the product. That fact makes it sooo much easier to comprehend and master powershell. There is little fluff and lots of just-in-time insights. I can't imagine an easier way to learn.
Just so you know, I've resisted learning powershell because it always looked so cryptic when I've seen scripts of it in microsoft newletters. FYI, I program using sql server. Now I realize powerscript may be the most well designed and academically pure language on the planet. Basically powerscript is a structured batch language for writing powerful mini apps using .net objects people have written for you!

This book is an excellent introduction to Windows Powershell It is also up to date covering up to Powershell 5. The author is a very good writer as well as educator. He helps you find the help you might need to master a particular cmdlet. Poershell is build on the .Net Framework and .Net developers will be quite happy with familiar terms and code in the building of pwershell scripts. I highly recommend this book

A rocky start

So far, the book provides decent detail at an introductory pace. However, I have already encountered a couple of typos that made lessons difficult. Typos in prose is trivial but typos in code create an impasse for new users.
