great books

Wow, this book was a great read and very easy to get through. I learned a lot about the product design process and now I understand a great deal more then I did before. The author tells a great story that I can really relate to as a web developer and he's able to explain things in everyday language by using real world examples to illustrate concepts. I highly recommend this book as an intro to the field of UX.

An argument to do good UX design not how to do it

If you need to introduced to common UX design practices and be convinced of their value, you may like this book. If you are looking for practical advice on best practices or how to implement, look elsewhere.
This book can basically be distilled down to this: learn about your users, do low fedelity mock ups and test early and often. The 'how' is not addressed, only the 'what' and 'why'.

good read for designers

I'm a graphic designer trying to understand UX and this book really helped me. It hit all the key areas were I needed to get defined explanations for things about UX that I was trying to understand. He goes over examples from his own work experience and it is a good model for a designer trying to transition into this line of work. And the way it was written keeps you turning the page. Lots of facts and example about UX, UI, product design, product testing, behavioral research etc. and he writes it in a way that's not over complicated and you just get it. If you are a designer trying to make the UX/UI transition read this book.
